2022-23 Upper Deck Synergy Hockey marks the sixth consecutive season for the NHL card brand.

As many know, the release does not follow the standard, hit-based format common to collectors these days. Instead, it offers a product that focuses more on inserts and low-numbered base cards.

2022-23 Upper Deck Synergy Hockey Base / Rookies

Once again, the 2022-23 Upper Deck Synergy Hockey checklist sticks with extreme rarity for the base set. The main lineup includes base Veterans (#/13; #1-60), Legends (#/13; #61-75), Rookies (#/23; #76-115) and Rookies SP (#/23; #116-125) subsets. The Rookies SP Portrait cards check in with just 13 copies.

There are also parallels to collect. The Red versions are the most plentiful, averaging eight per box. These are part of the Upper Deck Bounty program.

As usual, 2022-23 Upper Deck Synergy Hockey offers several insert lines. These combine to average 15 cards per box. A few new choices greet Synergy collectors, including 2030 (1:4.5 packs), which boasts a "futuristic design" for those that could be superstars at the end of the decade.

Cranked Up! (#/699 or less) is an acetate insert with a loud style.

There's also Light Up the Night (#/899 or less), a colorful series that incorporates Spectrum Light FX technology.

Printed on Rainbow Foilboard, Thrill Rides (1:7 packs) is another debut set.

Returning options for 2022-23 Upper Deck Synergy Hockey include Cast for Greatness Metal (1:62 packs) and Rookie Journey (#/699 or less), in Draft, Home uniform and Away uniform versions.
