2023 Topps Series 1 Baseball Inserts
Giving collectors a fresh selection, the 2023 Topps Series 1 Baseball inserts come with many new choices. 2022’s Greatest Hits celebrates noteworthy plate appearances, while All Aces takes a die-cut foilboard approach to top pitchers of today and yesterday.
One-Two Punch is also for the pitchers, honoring some of the standout starting duos. The focus turns to the bat and basepath in Welcome to the Club, which pays tribute to 30/30, 40/40, and 20/20/20 members.
For each of these inserts, there are Blue, Black (#/299), Gold (#/75), Red (#/10), and Platinum (1/1) editions. Select insert subjects also have low-numbered Autographs (#/25 or less).
On top of that, 2023 Topps Series 1 Baseball continues the annual look back at Topps' design history. This time, 1988 Topps Baseball takes center stage for its 35th anniversary.
For these '88-styled cards, the parallels consist of Blue (600 copies), Black (#/299), Gold (#/75), Red (#/10), and Platinum (1/1), plus the all-new "The Real One" parallel, which is printed on "Heritage-style" stock and numbered to 88 copies.
Still going, the "limited quantity" inserts add a new chase aspect. AKA displays nicknames for top players.
Heavy Lumber works with top hitters and a woodgrain design.
Fans of the Home Run Challenge are in luck as the promo set continues for another season of predicting dingers and winning prizes. The Derby Duel promo is also back.

2023 Topps Series 1 Baseball Flagship Design
Keeping with the recent trend, 2023 Topps Series 1 Baseball delivers a third consecutive year with a traditional border. Collectors will also likely appreciate that the names appear to be relatively easy to read. Many fans know that this is not always the case.
However, the nameplate gets an overhaul, packing a lot into the bottom portion of the card. The most obvious element here is the secondary portrait-style image, which has not been used since 2003.
The headshot-in-the-corner design may remind collectors of the 1983 and 1984 looks.
This new design for 2023 Topps Series 1 Baseball also includes a large team logo in the nameplate background, along with the team name and position notation in addition to the player's name.
